Coming Home to the Comfort Food Cafe

Publication date 8th October 2017
About the book
Welcome to the cosy Comfort Food Café, where there's kindness in every cup of hot chocolate and the menu is sprinkled with love and happiness…
Moving to the little village of Budbury, Zoe hopes the crisp Dorset sea breeze and gentle pace of life will be a fresh start for her and her goddaughter, Martha.
Luckily for them both, the friendly community at the café provide listening ears, sage advice, shoulders to cry on, and some truly excellent carrot cake. And when Martha's enigmatic, absent father suddenly turns up, confusing not only Martha but Zoe too, the love and support of their new-found friends is the best present they could ask for.
Have Zoe and Martha truly found their home at the Comfort Food Café?
My Review
I have got to say firstly this was one of my favourite covers this year! It is just so beautiful! Looking at it really makes you want to pick the book up! Once I seen that cover I had to read it!
This time we are introduced to new characters Zoe & Martha, and it's not before long you just get so attached to them, they have had a really emotional hard year and they both need this fresh new start.  If you've read the previous books you just know that as soon as they reach Budbury they are going to love it, the people, the village, the cafe, they are all just are so warm and friendly and really supportive of each other.
Our favourite characters from the previous books all feature and each put a smile on my face I loved them all. As usual there is plenty going on, its quite an eventful book!
I love love LOVE the comfort cafe books! They really do make you feel so good!

The Pets at Primrose Cottage: Part One A Place to Hide

Publication date 23rd November 2017
About the book
PART ONE of a serialised novel - a charming and romantic story about living the simple life and the joy of animals.

Emma Nightingale needs a place to hide away. Pursued by the demons left by her ex-boyfriend, she takes refuge in quiet Crickleford, a sleepy town in Dartmoor, where she can lay low.

Life in Crickleford is quiet and peaceful, but it won’t be for long if people discover the truth about Emma’s past. Not wanting to make too much of a fuss, she ends up lying about why she's there - she's looking after some cats, she says - then suddenly the town’s new ‘pet-sitter’ is in high demand!

While looking after an Alsatian, Emma finds all attention is on her, and the handsome young reporter from the local paper takes an interest in her story...

My Review
I really adore Shelia Norton's books, there's just something so magical about them, so I was extremely excited to read part 1 of this new series.  A place to hide absolutely lived up to my expectations. I read it all in one go it was so exciting and really enjoyable.

Emma is a brilliant character, there is a bit of a mystery to her, it is clear from the start she has a secret past and it makes it so interesting and we are drawn to her. Since she arrived in Crickleford she comes off with lie after lie about her past and as readers we are left wondering why does she keep making up these lies about her past?

As usual with Shelia's books she finishes part one of this book with a massive cliffhanger and I just cannot wait until part 2!!!

Love this new series!

The Girl from the Sugar Plantation

Publication date 19th October 2017
About the book
An unputdownable story of a woman in search of the truth, the man she falls in love with, and the devastation of the Second World War.

1934, Guyana. All her life, Mary Grace has wanted to know the truth about who her parents really are. As the mixed-race daughter of two white plantation owners, her childhood has been clouded by whispered rumours, and the circumstances of her birth have been kept a closely guarded secret…

Aunt Winnie is the only person Mary Grace can confide in. Feeling lost and lonely, her place in society uncertain, Mary Grace decides to forge her own path in the world. And she finds herself unexpectedly falling for charming and affluent Jock Campbell, a planter with revolutionary ideas.

But, with the onset of the Second World War, their lives will be changed forever. And Mary Grace and Jock will be faced with the hardest decision of all – to fight for freedom or to follow their hearts…

An utterly compelling and evocative story about the heart-breaking choices men and women had to make during a time of unimaginable change. Perfect for fans of The Secret Wife and Island of Secrets.
Sharon Maas was born in Georgetown, Guyana in 1951, and spent many childhood hours either curled up behind a novel or writing her own adventure stories. Sometimes she had adventures of her own, and found fifteen minutes of Guyanese fame for salvaging an old horse-drawn coach from a funeral parlor, fixing it up, painting it bright blue, and tearing around Georgetown with all her teenage friends. The coach ended up in a ditch, but thankfully neither teens nor horse were injured.

Boarding school in England tamed her somewhat; but after a few years as a reporter with the Guyana Graphic in Georgetown she plunged off to discover South America by the seat of her pants. She ended up in a Colombian jail, and that's a story for another day...

Sharon has lived in an Ashram in India and as a German Hausfrau--the latter giving her the time and the motivation to finally start writing seriously. Her first novel, Of Marriageable Age, was published by HarperCollins, London, in 1999 and reprinted as a digital edition in 2014. After working as a social worker in a German hospital she finally retired and now has time for her favourite pastimes: reading, writing, and travelling.

My Review
I have got to say what a really lovely, elegant cover for this book! It really makes you want to pick it up and delve into the story!

This is a completely different genre of book to the usual book I would read but it has completely opened my eyes reading books like this one! I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was much better than I had thought!

So this is the final part of the series but as I hadn't read the previous two books I definitely agree that this can be read as a standalone book.  It doesn't take you long to get familiar and catch up with the story so far.

The story itself is utterly heartwarming and extremely emotional. I loved the character Mary Grace, we see her go through a lot and my heart went out to her - all she wanted was to know the truth about her parents and find that sense of belonging. It's been a pretty tough time for her.

I really loved the letter at the end of the book from Grace to her Aunt Winnie really made me smile.

You should definitely give this book a read if you haven't already it is really eye opening, and so easy to read! Once you pick it up and start to read it, it is very hard to put it down!
I am delighted to have to take part in this Blog Blitz for The Girl from the Sugar Plantation. It would be amazing if you could check out the other fabulous bloggers that are taking part! Oh and of course buy the book!!!!! You won't look back!

Cover reveal - Heart Note

I am extremely delighted to be sharing with you all the cover for Cassandra O'Leary's new book 'Heart Note'.  So here it is...
Publication date – 6th November 2017

About the book
Love is like a fine perfume. The top note draws you in, an instant attraction, but the Heart Note is the true essence. Like true love. A great perfume should be a woman’s perfect match. At least, that’s what Lily Lucas tells the perfume counter customers. Personally, Lily is tired of perfumes with a sickly sweet top note that make her dizzy. She definitely does not want to stick her nose in another scent with a base note of stinky old socks. After leaving her home in Sydney, Lily moves to Melbourne and a new job as a perfume counter manager in a major department store. One day she wants to own a Parisian-style perfumerie, but at the moment she’s spritzing perfume on unsuspecting customers and ringing up purchases until she falls off her high heels at the end of a long day. The high point of Lily’s work life is Christos Cyriakos, the ex-cop senior security guard, who happens to look like a Greek god. She’d happily stare at him all day, but keeps falling at his feet like a klutz. It’s kind of embarrassing. No other man has ever had this effect on her. He smells so good up close, she gets a little woozy. But in a good way. Rumours about Christos swirl around the department store staff. There’s a scent of scandal. The reason he quit the police force wasn’t a happy one. But he’s the strong, silent type. A mystery box. Lily hopes she can get close enough to unwrap him. When he asks for her help, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get to know him better…if she can trust him. It’s almost Christmas and the whole store is bedecked with decorations, and Lily has to gift wrap and sell eleventy billion gift sets assisted by a team of glamorous spritzer chicks. Meanwhile sneaky guys are trying to get into the store room at night and stock is going missing. It could be an inside job. Lily helps Christos setup a sting. They are a team, sort of. But why won’t he confide in her? She’d like to be kissed by Christos (and more) preferably not while wearing the hideous red velvet onesie and reindeer antlers all the spritzer chicks are supposed to wear. But can they solve a crime, and get it together to go on an actual date before Christmas?

Fatal Masquerade (A Lady Alkmene Cosy Mystery, Book 4)

Today I am delighted to be taking part in this wonderful blog tour for the latest Lady Alkmene series ''Fatal Masquerade'' by Vivian Conroy.
About the book
Lady Alkmene and Jake Dubois are back in a gripping new adventure facing dangerous opponents at a masked ball in the countryside.
Masked danger…
Lady Alkmene Callender has always loved grand parties, but when she receives an invitation to a masked ball thrown by Franklin Hargrove – oil magnate, aviation enthusiast and father of her best friend, Denise – she’s never seen such luxury. The estate is lit up with Chinese lanterns in the gardens, boats operated by footmen float across the pond and the guest list features the distinguished, rich and powerful!
But below the glamour, evil is lurking. When a dead body is discovered, it forces Lady Alkmene to throw off her mask and attempt to find the true killer before Denise’s family are accused. If only her partner, Jake Dubois, weren’t hiding something from her…
This case might just be more dangerous than either of them could have imagined.
My Review
Firstly I just want to say that I love the cover for this book, I really think it is perfect and suits the story so so well!
So you may have noticed I don't normally read this genre of book but I took part in a blog tour for another book by Vivian Conroy 'Rubies in the Roses' and I found I really enjoyed it so when I knew Vivian had a new book out I got extremely excited and started reading as soon as I could.  Again I was really impressed with it and found myself hooked on the book!
I hadn't been introduced to Lady Alkmene before so I was really impressed when I started reading the book.  I just love her character she is defiantly someone I would love to know in the real life world.
The thing that kept me gripped was the whole mystery to the book and playing detective trying to work out what was going on and the ''whole who done it'' I loved that the mystery wasn't predictable and I was left guessing right until the end, and that was something that really made me happy because with a lot of books I have read before they are very predicable and you know what is going to happen.
I have got to say the whole 1920's vibe in this book is just spot on and I could imagine every part so clearly!
The way Vivian has wrote Fatal Masquerade is utterly fantastic, with every page I truly felt I was there with all the characters.

A really enjoyable and very glamorous read!

Christmas at Butterfly Cove

Today I am thrilled to be taking part in the Blog Blitz for ''Christmas at Butterfly Cove'' by Sarah Bennett.

About the book
All she wants for Christmas…
When talented artist Nee Sutherland returns to Butterfly Cove for her sister’s wedding, it’s only a matter of time before she has to face her own bridegroom – Luke Spenser – the man she impulsively married, then left in the middle of the night.
Nee hasn’t picked up her paintbrushes in months, a part of her is broken. She knows Luke might never forgive her, leaving him was the biggest mistake of her life – but could coming home for Christmas be the best decision she’s ever made?
Maybe all she needs is a little Christmas miracle…
A delightfully feel-good festive romance, perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley, Rachael Lucas and Hilary Boyd.

My review
Its so lovely that this final part of the series is set at Christmas, what a wonderful way to end! This time its the turn of sister Nee, she's been through a lot and needs to build her life back up again, and try and find that strong person that she once was.  We've seen the other sisters get their happy ever after so we get to see if Nee will eventually get hers?

I love the characters in this series, they are all very strong characters but all so kind and caring, every single one of them is there for each other through their tough times that they face.  They are all really easy to connect with and you find yourself attached too them.

Butterfly Cove is a beautiful location for this book, so easy to imagine and it just sounds so perfect and I found myself wanting to go there! The whole story itself is just delightful and totally amazing.

Overall I think this is a perfect christmas read! It's so easy to read and enjoy and if you have read the previous two books you know the characters already and its fantastic to catch up with them and see what is next for them.  It is definitely a book to cosy up to and read in these winter nights. But stock up on the tissues you will need them! It's emotional!

I have loved every single page of each of the three books and I am gutted I have finished them! They are sure to put a smile on your face!

Christmas at Conwenna Cove

Welcome to my stop on the Christmas at Conwenna Cove Blog Tour!
I am delighted to be part of this as I absolutely adore this series! Just look at that cover! Doesn't it look so magical!!!
Christmas at Conwenna Cove
Darcie Boleyn
Publication date: 9th October 2017
Genre: Women's Fiction/Christmas
Publisher: Canelo
Previous books: A Very Merry Manhattan Christmas, Summer at Conwenna Cove and Love at the Italian Lake

About the book
A heartwarming, romantic and Christmassy novel set in the gorgeous Cornish village of Conwenna Cove.
When Grace Phillips travels to Conwenna Cove to help her parents move there 30 years after their honeymoon in the village, she sees why they fell in love with the place. The festive decorations, carols in the air and constant supply of delicious mince pies certainly make it hard to leave. Grace soon meets local vet Oli Davenport and initially finds him rude, but learning about his passion for animals and how much he cares for his two kids helps Grace to see a softer side to Oli.
It’s been two years since Oli lost his wife to cancer. Though he loves eleven-year-old Amy and five-year-old Tom more than anything it’s hard to be mum and dad. He has no interest in romance until he crosses paths with beautiful and kind-hearted Grace. The sparks fly but both Oli and Grace are holding onto fear about letting someone into their heart.
As the snow falls and Christmas wishes come true can Conwenna Cove work its magic and help Grace and Oli find the happiness they both deserve?

My review
As soon as I got my copy of Christmas at Conwenna Cove it immediately went straight to the top of my to be read pile as I absolutely loved Summer at Conwenna Cove and I was very excited and eager to get back to Conwenna! This series is just awesome!

This time the book is based on a brilliant character called Grace.  She is really easy to like and you instantly connect with her.  Its not long before the local vet Oli catches her eye, from the minute they meet there is definitely a spark between them. They definitely are two people destined to be together both so kind and caring.

What I loved about their relationship was that the writer of the book didn't drag out 'them getting together' through the whole book which you often find in romance books, and they got together pretty quickly so you are able to enjoy their relationship and see their romance blossom throughout the book.

The book really is a feel good read, in fact I read the whole book with a huge grin on my face as I just enjoyed every single page and I must say this is one of the best books I have read this year! I loved it that much that I had to drag out the last few chapters as I didn't want the book to end!

''The most perfect romance book''

I really recommend you read Christmas at Conwenna Cove because it is a pure joy to read.

Here are the links to the book:

Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop

Publication date 5th October 2017
About the book
Christmas arrives at Brides by the Sea, Cornwall’s enchanting and most adorable little wedding shop.
There’s nothing more magical than a winter wonderland wedding, and the girls are determined to make this festive season their most romantic yet.
The champagne is on ice while the mistletoe is hanging from every nook, and the exquisite lace and pearl-encrusted dresses, glistening like the frosted shop windows, are waiting to be chosen.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and romance is most definitely in the crisp winter air- with promises, proposals and Christmas kisses aplenty…
My Review
I am a huge fan of this series so I was delighted when I seen this book and even better its set at Christmas.

This time we are introduced to new character Holly.  (I don't want to spoil it and say to much about her as its nice to meet a new character.) But you will love her! Previous characters also feature hugely in this book! Its just lovely catching up with them and picking off where we left off at the last book.

Holly catches the eye of local Rory, there is clearly a spark between them, he is always there by her side but it seems like he likes her a lot but she doesn't seem to notice his feelings for her.  Then her Ex turns up and you are left wondering who she is going to end up with.

This is a really warm and cosy read, perfect to curl up with this winter season.  I enjoyed every single page! It has got me so excited for christmas!
Pure Perfection!
